John Deere 1928 Model GP Standard Tractor  
The ''General-Purpose Tractor'' was the first to make 
power available in four ways-at the draw-bar, the belt pulley,
the power take-off, and a mechanical lift. It was built during the time 
that row-crop tractor design was evolving, so it received numerous
updates during its lifetime. For example, the earliest ''GP''s did not leave 
the factory with an upright air intake.
