John Deere Waterloo Boy
In december 1911 Waterloo Gasoline Engine
Company introduced an entire new series of
engines with a redesigned water hopper. This
2 horsepower model was equipped with a gasoline
carburetor as standard equipment, but could be
converted to burn city gas as a slight extra cost.
Most early Waterloo Boy Engines had a deep
blood red fed finish, those produced after 1915
used a bright green enamel with a profusion of
yellow pin stripping. Deere & Company continued
to build the Waterloo Boy line virtually intact for
several years after purchasing the company.
With Deere´s introduction of the renowed type
E engine during the 1920´s all production ended
on the waterloo boy engine line
